  • The Sacramental Life

    • The Sacraments are powerful moments where God reaches out to us to share His life and love.  These visible signs instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, offer us an encounter with the Lord and the free gift of His Grace.  Bishop Robert Barron says “All the sacraments have a deifying purpose: Baptism introduces the Divine Life into us.  Confession restores it when it’s lost through sin.  Confirmation strengthens it.  Matrimony and Holy Orders give it vocational direction. Anointing of the Sick prepares us for the transition to our heavenly homeland.  And the Eucharist is meant to Christify us.”

    • Baptism

“For through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus.  For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.”
       - Galatians 3: 26-27

Baptism is the Sacrament by which the gates of God’s graces are opened for us.  Whether you’re bringing your child to be baptized or whether you are searching for new life through Christ and his Church, we are pleased to welcome you home through the Sacrament of Baptism.  Please contact the Parish Office to learn more about Baptism or to begin the process.

    • Confirmation

“Confirmation strengthens us to defend the faith and to spread the Gospel courageously.”
       - Pope Francis

Confirmation brings to fulfillment the work of the Holy Spirit first begun at Baptism.  In and through this Sacrament, God abundantly blesses and anoints the faithful with the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord are the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit given in the Sacrament of Confirmation.  Please contact the Parish Office to learn more about Sacrament and to learn the necessary steps to be confirmed in the Catholic Church.
    • The Eucharist

“The last degree of love is when He gave Himself to us to be our Food; because He gave Himself to be united with us in every way.”
       - St. Bernardine of Siena

Out of total love for us, Jesus Christ did not abandon us when He ascended into Heaven, but rather He left his lasting presence in the Church and in the Eucharist.  Jesus’ “Bread of Life Discourse” in the Gospel of John chapter 6 beautifully lays out the depth and splendor of the Eucharist.  He says, “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.  Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day” (John 6:53-54). To learn more about the “source and summit” of our Faith or to learn about the process of initiation into the Catholic Church, please contact the Parish Office.  If you are already fully initiated in the Catholic Church, please refer to our weekly schedule for Mass times and opportunities for adoration.
    • Reconciliation

“So many people see the confessional as a place of defeat, but confession is a place of victory every single time.”
       - Fr. Mike Schmitz

In the Gospel of John chapter 20, Jesus gives the power and authority to forgive sins to His Apostles and commissions them to continue His good work.  This mercy is at the heart of the Catholic Church and what we are all about.  While some consider this the most difficult Sacrament, once the weight of sin is released from one’s shoulders through confession, the grace of God is truly experienced.  To learn more about this Sacrament of Healing or to begin the process of preparation, please contact the Parish Office.  If you are already fully initiated into the Church, please refer to the many opportunities for reconciliation in our Parishes.
    • Anointing of the Sick

“Heal me, Lord, that I may be healed; save me, that I may be saved, for you are my praise.”
       - Jeremiah 17:14

Throughout the Gospels and the whole New Testament, we not only hear of Jesus healing the multitudes, but also His closest followers healing in His Name.  The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick offers followers the opportunity to experience God’s grace through spiritual and sometimes physical healing.  Through the laying on of hands and anointing with Holy Oil, the priest entrusts the individual to the loving embrace of God.  This Sacrament is offered to Catholics who are preparing for serious treatments, are seriously ill, or are in danger of death. To learn more about this Sacrament or if you are fully initiated in the Church and need to receive this Sacrament, please call the Parish Office.
    • Marriage

“Now, we must help each other to get to Heaven.”

       - Blessed Charles of Austria

Scriptures and Tradition beautifully lay out our understanding of Marriage—that through the Sacrament of Marriage, man and woman become one, united in faith, hope, and love.  The role of the Church is to help in the discernment of marriage, the preparation for marriage, the celebration of marriage, and to be the continual support of marriage throughout life.  To learn more about the Sacrament or about the process for getting married in our Church, please contact the Parish Office.

    • Holy Orders

“If you are what you should be, then you will set the world on fire.”

       - St. Catherine of Siena

Holy Orders were established by Christ and entrusted to the Church to help continue the ministerial priesthood of Jesus Christ.  These men have been called and chosen, formed, and commissioned to be instruments of God’s grace in the Church and in the world.  Priests and Deacons fulfill their roles in a variety of ways, but ultimately in their efforts of leading us all to Christ.  To learn more about Holy Orders or to begin the process of discerning if God is calling you to this special vocation, please call the Parish Office.
